PEOPLE
Deaf Identity places a strong emphasis on representation and inclusivity. The brand features clothing modeled by Deaf individuals and children of Deaf adults, ensuring authentic representation. By incorporating British Sign Language (BSL) and Deaf-centric messages into its apparel, the brand fosters awareness and pride within the Deaf community.
Garments are sourced from a supplier with robust policies outlining their commitment to human rights. The supplier is also a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), which independently monitors factory working conditions, enables worker complaint mechanisms, and offers training. Fair and safe working conditions, well-being in the workplace, and community engagement are at the heart of their operations and organisation.
For community engagement, they run projects that directly enhance people's quality of life. They also allocate a percentage of annual operating profit to a fund that supports environmental and community-based initiatives. This fund is operated in collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation, whose mission is to facilitate philanthropic and charitable initiatives by individuals and companies. They give back to communities close to the cotton fields, near partner factories, or near their operations in Europe.

PLANET
Deaf Identity’s suppliers source cotton in the most responsible way possible, from non-GMO countries such as Turkey and Tanzania. They also map their supply chain for full transparency and take further initiatives to reinforce the traceability and organic integrity of their cotton. This includes maintaining in-house expertise in cotton sourcing and conducting regular visits to farmers, ginners, and spinners.
To guarantee the traceability of raw materials, all products are certified by GOTS through Control Union (CU 819434) for organic cotton. To further ensure the integrity of their materials, they go beyond certifications by undertaking various additional actions. For example, their local teams in Turkey and India are in direct contact with cotton farmers, and they regularly test lint cotton and yarn to verify its organic content.
They also ensure that dyes, finishes, and other additives used in their products are managed according to ambitious standards across the entire supply chain, reducing and preventing harm to people and the environment. At production sites, chemical management policies comply with the highest standards, such as GOTS (by Control Union CU 819434) and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
No plastic packaging is used in deliveries.
