PEOPLE
elliot. only work with small, accredited garment factories in Spain and the UK who ensure the workers are fairly paid and have good working conditions.
The fabric for our some of their products is produced by a German manufacturer who has developed strong partnerships with 2 farmers' cooperatives, the bigger one in Uganda, the smaller one in Kyrgyzstan. They buy the cotton directly from the cooperatives and they pay organic fair-trade prices.
In Uganda, they are working with the German Agency for International Cooperation or (GIZ), which is an international enterprise owned by the German Federal Government, operating in many fields across more than 130 countries. The GIZ offers demand-driven, tailor-made and effective services for sustainable development.
Their Ugandan PPP (Public/Private Partnership) is a lighthouse project. To date, they have trained 12,500 farmers in organic farming and good agriculture practice. This program has been especially appreciated because after 20 years of civil war in Uganda, the number of people with technical know-how is very low.
So when you shop elliot. products, not only are you choosing a beautiful product, you can trust that you are investing in a brighter future.
PLANET
elliot. source all of their cotton fabrics from GOTS certified manufacturers, which means that not only the fabrics that they use, but the whole supply chain of the fabric manufacturer is certified to the highest Global Organic Textile Standard.
ANIMALS
elliot. makes products that are free of animal materials.
All products are organic. Organic farming is proven to support biodiversity and wildlife, protect animal welfare (and reduce exposure to pesticides for the farmers and the land they farm).
